A childhood of wonder, rooted in nature, growing in culture and connection.

educational philosophies for children worldwide. Loris Malaguzzi developed
the Reggio Emilia approach in the city of Reggio Emilia, located in northern
Italy. This approach is widely recognized as one of the best educational
philosophies for children around the world.

At Orchard Atelier, we are committed to the holistic development of each child. We
see every child as strong, capable, independent, curious, imaginative, and full
of potential. We empower them to think critically, ask questions, investigate,

explore, and take an active role in their learning. Our approach is child-
centered, with teachers acting as facilitators who focus on the natural

development of the whole child.

Children's innate sense of curiosity, combined with their inherent potential,
fosters a lifelong interest in learning, enabling them to excel and succeed over
time. It is this curiosity and potential that should guide the direction of our
teaching.

Another key aspect of the Reggio Emilia approach is the belief that children
can express themselves in multiple ways. Loris Malaguzzi, the founder of this
approach, describes the many ways children can express, explore, and connect
their thoughts and feelings as the "Hundred Languages." These languages
include not only verbal and written communication but also drawing, painting,
sculpture, music, dance, and more.

Our Mission

DSC_0252.jpg

To provide a safe and nurturing child and youth-centered environment in an atmosphere that fosters personal, social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative growth that results in real-life long learning. Hands-on experiences enable the child to grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially, with opportunities to practice and improve his/her skills and techniques, thereby building positive attitudes towards learning. Through a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, children are given the tools and support to navigate their own distinct paths of discovery.

Our goals are:
 To provide a supportive, safe, and welcoming environment
 To maintain respectful and reciprocal relationships
 To work in partnership with our families, educators, and the community
 To embrace and appreciate cultural diversity
 To develop love and respect for the natural environment and the world
 To foster an enthusiasm for learning, where children are active participants
