Growing Through Nature

Our programs are thoughtfully designed to nurture each child’s natural curiosity through exploration, play, and connection to the world around them. Rooted in a Reggio Emilia and a  nature-based approach, we create meaningful experiences that support independence - allowing every child to develop at their own rhythm within a warm and respectful environment.

Ages 4-7

Woodpeckers  (TK–7 Years)

Learning grows beyond the classroom. Through outdoor exploration, long-term projects, art, making, and meaningful collaboration, children follow their interests, take on new challenges, and turn their ideas into action. Rooted in the Reggio Emilia approach, afternoons at the Orchard Atelier offer time and space to wonder, investigate, create, and connect—with one another and the natural world.

Environments

The Environment as the Third Teacher

At Orchard Atelier, we believe where children learn shapes how they learn. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, our indoor and outdoor environments are intentionally designed to spark curiosity, encourage collaboration, and give children the freedom to explore their ideas. Natural materials, open-ended resources, learning studios, and atelier spaces invite children to build, create, investigate, and express their thinking in many different ways. Children’s questions, projects, and discoveries become visible throughout the school, allowing the environment to evolve alongside their learning.

Learning Belongs Outdoors

Nature is not a break from learning—it is part of the classroom. Our outdoor learning environments give children space to move, build, garden, take healthy risks, investigate the natural world, and engage in meaningful, child-led play.

From early childhood through TK–7, Orchard Atelier combines Reggio Emilia-inspired, project-based, and nature-based learning to create a place where children feel capable, connected, and inspired to discover what comes next.
